Nomi is from Melbourne, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Jewish Civilizations from Monash University, as well as a Master’s degree in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Nomi is an experienced writer. She is the Australian correspondent at Tablet Magazine (NYC) and has a monthly piece in Plus61J Media. Her bylines have appeared in major publications including The Forward, Religion and Politics, Neos Kosmos, Religion Unplugged, the ABC and The Age.
Previously Nomi has worked for the Shadow Attorney General of Australia and for the Victorian Legislative Assembly. Nomi also coordinated and accompanied a Parliamentary delegation to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. She is very involved in interfaith work, including sitting as a representative on the Faith Community Council of Victoria (FCCV).
Nomi is one of the founding members of the Women’s Orthodox Tefillah Group in Victoria. She is also the founder and inaugural president of the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance (JOFA) in Australia.
